Ultrasonic System

The new and improved Lascells Ultrasonic System is a versatile, hands-on teaching tool to facilitate the complete exploration of longitudinal wave behaviour. Enhanced with pulse modulation, the units can be used to demonstrate the principles of sound navigation and ranging (SONAR), where the ping-echo time can be measured on an oscilloscope, and used to calculate the distance to an object. The transmitter unit can provide either a single or dual output, allowing for a variety of investigations including reflection, refraction, interference, diffraction, and calculating wavelength and wave speed. Compact and battery powered, the Lascells Ultrasonic system is designed to make wave phenomena engaging, accessible, and easy to demonstrate in the classroom.
