Electric Field Apparatus
A simple model for demonstrating and visualising electric fields between various electrode configurations. Place a light oil (e.g. liquid paraffin) in the 90 mm petri dish and sprinkle semolina or fine grass seed (not supplied) on the surface. Apply a high voltage via the 4 mm terminals and the field pattern is generated. The clear acrylic base allows the pattern to be projected via an overhead projector, or visibility can be enhanced by placing on black paper.
Note: This apparatus requires a safe, low-current limited 0-5 kV EHT supply.
