New Cloud Chamber

The Lascells Cloud Chamber released earlier this year helps teachers answer the question “What is radiation?” by displaying the vapour trails left by Alpha and Beta particles in a layer of condensed alcohol that collects in its illuminated chamber. Unlike other Cloud Chambers it requires no dry ice or water of any kind to achieve the temperatures needed for the alcohol to super saturate.

The unit simply plugs into the mains and with the Alpha source provided and the addition of a little alcohol can be up and running within minutes of opening the box.
